Your small student room probably contains a lot of stuff that you should have thrown away 2 years ago. And don't even get me started on your wardrobe! Here are some tidying up tips.
For each item of clothing, consider whether you wore it in the previous season. For example: Didn't you wear those shorts last summer? Let's be honest: you won't wear it again next summer. Get rid of it! You will see that you can get rid of a lot of things and that your closet will immediately be a lot emptier. Wonderful, that insight! Organize a clothes swap evening with your friends. A fun evening, you are working sustainably and you have a whole new wardrobe at the end of the evening! Oh and you can always take good clothes to the thrift store.
Messiness often lies in the little things. Those gift cards that have long been empty? That book you could have sold a long time ago? Be honest with yourself. When is the last time you used it? And do you really need it? Mostly not. Cycle to the thrift store or just throw it away immediately.
Also take a look at your bathroom items. That empty shampoo bottle, toothpaste, or toothbrush that should have been replaced ages ago. Throw away all dirty or empty things, and make a list of things you need new. That will be a wonderful shower tonight!
Once you have cleaned up or thrown away all the stuff (proud!), you can start cleaning. Work from top to bottom! You can then suck up any dust that falls down with the vacuum cleaner.
Now your whole room is clean! Time to change your bedding. Three guesses who will wake up feeling wonderfully rested in a clean bed & tidy room tomorrow?
