How to maintain the dryer

A poorly maintained dryer is a common cause of fire in the home. Enough reason to clean it regularly!

Fluff filter

There is a fluff filter in the door of your dryer. The dust must be removed from the filters before or after each drying cycle. Also make sure that the filter does not become clogged, you can see this in places where there is no dust at all. If this is the case, it is best to descale the filter by soaking it in vinegar. Also keep the passage behind the filter clean.

Condenser (only for condenser dryers)

The condenser is located behind a cover at the bottom. In most cases the condenser is easy to clean. It is best to simply hold the condenser under the shower head and rinse thoroughly on both sides. Also keep the space behind the condenser dust-free.

Tumble dryer

Nowadays, dryers are often equipped with sensors that measure the degree of dryness of the laundry. These sensors can become clogged due to detergent and fabric softener residues and therefore no longer measure the dryness level correctly. That is why it is wise to occasionally clean the dryer itself with a sponge and a little cleaning agent.

Drain hose

If the dryer is connected to a drain hose, it is important that it is kept clean, because dust can remain in it. By flushing the hose occasionally you prevent blockages that could prevent your dryer from drying properly.
