How do you keep burglars out of your house?

Unfortunately, you hear it far too often... Another number of laptops gone from a student house. We have listed a number of tips for you to prevent your student house from being broken into. This way you reduce the chance that your laptop and camera will immediately be gone.

Lighten the front door

If your front door is illuminated, there is a greater chance that the neighbors will pay attention or see something by chance. Better a good neighbor than a distant friend!

Place a steel strip on the outside of the front door

This prevents burglars from using a payment card to open the door. Also make sure you always lock the door, instead of just closing it behind you.

Always lock your own room door

If you have taken out insurance, this only applies if there are signs of burglary. So check your lock again or replace it if you're not sure who has a key.

No more “secret places”

Just remove those keys from under the doormat and plant pot... For example, talk to a friend who lives nearby about keeping each other's keys. A lot safer!

Don't leave your valuables in plain sight

If your laptop is in the middle of your room, you make it very easy for burglars to take it. This of course also applies to other valuables. For example, put it in the back of your cupboard or under your pillow. In any case, make sure it is not directly in front of a window.

Always lock the door.
