Celebrate Together, Wherever You Are
Dear students,
As many of you prepare to travel to your parents' home to spend the holidays with family, we would like to reflect on those who cannot. Celebrating Christmas abroad can sometimes be a challenge for international students, but together let's make sure they feel welcome and loved in their second home!
- Instant Christmas Brunch:
It's not too late! Invite your fellow students for a spontaneous brunch. Whether it's homemade dishes or snacks from the supermarket, it's all about sharing food and fun. - Virtual Christmas get-together:
Put on your Christmas sweater, grab a cup of hot chocolate and start a videocall. Raise a virtual toast on the screen and share the Christmas cheer with your fellow students, wherever they are in the world. - Last-Minute Christmas Decorations:
Drive to the nearest store for some last-minute shopping Christmas decorations, or use what you already have to give your student home a festive atmosphere. A few lights and Christmas baubles make a big difference. - Last-Minute Christmas Cards:
Write a quick Christmas greeting to your fellow students. It can be digital or handwritten. It's about the gesture and the connection it creates, even at the last moment. - Spontaneous Good Deed:
Do something good at the last moment. See if there are local initiatives that could use extra help. Doing something positive together not only strengthens your bond, but also gives a warm feeling of satisfaction.
Let's use this Christmas season to embrace the spirit of community and connection. For those who cannot reach their home country, let's make sure they feel surrounded by the love of their student family. We wish you a wonderful, pleasant and spontaneous Christmas!
With festive greetings, Team Splash
